Services

At our office, we dedicate ourselves to providing you with exceptional dental care. We make every effort to ensure that you experience quality care. We will diagnose, then discuss and explain your course of treatment with you. We want to help you obtain optimum dental health.
We offer the following treatments:

Comprehensive Dental Exam
This is performed on new patients. The dentist will record the patient’s dental and medical history and general health assessment. Dental cavities, missing or unerupted teeth, fillings, fractures, TMJ problems, hard and soft tissue pathology and gum health will be charted. The dentist may also use digital radiographs and digital photographs to further document a patient’s existing conditions.
Oral Cancer Screening
Your dentist will carefully examine all areas of your mouth. In about 10% of patients, the dentist may notice a flat, painless, while or red spot or a small sore. Although most of these are harmless, some are not. Harmful oral spots or sores often look identical to those that are harmless – testing can tell them apart. If you have a sore with a likely cause, your dentist may treat it and ask you to return for re-examination.
Cleaning
Cleaning is a treatment done by a dental hygienist. The hygienist removes stains, plaque and tartar from teeth and finishes with a polishing.

Gum Disease
Gum disease, known as periodontal disease, is caused by plaque, a colorless film of bacteria, which can harden to form tartar around teeth. Over time, if plaque is not removed, the tissue that attaches the gums to the teeth will cause the gums to be red and swollen. Eventually, the gums will recede from the teeth and create pockets between the teeth and gums allowing for an increase in plaque build up. To be diagnosed with gum disease, your dentist will have to examine your teeth and gums then measure the space in between them.

Digital X-rays
Digital imaging involves the use of radiography machine like that used to create traditional dental radiographs made with film. But instead of using film the clinician makes digital images using a small electronic sensor. Because of the sensitivity of the sensor the clinician can decrease the patient radiation exposure by 50-80 percent of the traditional film radiation exposure. A digital radiographic image can be viewed instantly on a computer screen. The clinician can use magnification to enhance specific problem areas of a tooth. Because the images can be blown up they are excellent tools for patient education.

Preventative Dentistry
Preventative Dentistry is a prevention dental health program that is essential to keep teeth clean, healthy and strong. Through regular dental visits, your dentist will clean and examine your teeth, including diagnosis and treatment of early symptoms. Between dental visits, patients can use dental hygiene products and techniques to maintain a healthy mouth.

White Fillings
White fillings are known technically as composites. They have virtually replaced silver and gold fillings because of their extreme durability and esthetics. Composites are made up of a combination of quartz, resin and a light sensitive agent and come in different shades in order to match the color of your teeth.

Veneers
Veneers are form-fitted porcelain shells applied to the front of the teeth. Veneers are used to restore teeth from chips, gaps and stains. The tooth is prepared for a veneer by removing a minimal amount of enamel from the front of the tooth. An impression is made of the tooth and a veneer constructed from the impression. The veneer will then be bonded to the front tooth, and then shaped and polished.

Crowns
Crowns are made from a variety of materials that strengthen and protect the tooth structure. There are three types of crowns: a full porcelain crown, a porcelain fused-to-metal crown and all-metal crown. Your dentist will discuss and help you decide which type of crown is suitable for you. Crowns are suggested for the following reasons:
- Severe damage from decay
- A filled tooth can no longer support the filling
- Root Canal - after a root canal, the tooth becomes brittle and requires the protection of a crown
- Bridges - when teeth are replaced by a bridge, the adjacent teeth need crowns in order to support the bridge.

Bridges
Bridges are fixed or removable artificial teeth spanning a space where one or more teeth have been lost in the dental arch. The teeth adjacent to the area of missing teeth will be prepared for crowns in order to support the bridge.

Bleaching
Bleaching is a treatment that whitens the teeth. Under the dentist's supervision, the at-home treatment requires patients to place a bleaching agent in their custom fitted tooth tray. Patients are required to wear the tray nightly for 1-2 weeks.

Root Canals
Root canal treatment is performed when a tooth's pulp ( nerve and blood supply ) becomes infected or inflamed. With local anesthesia, the tooth is opened and the pulp and bacteria are removed, leaving an empty pulp chamber. The chamber is filled with a sealant and a filling. The tooth may require additional protection and reinforcement with a crown.

Dentures-Full & Partial
Dentures are artificial and removable replacements for missing teeth. They are made of acrylic resin. Complete dentures replace all the teeth and are custom fitted for each individual, while partial dentures are fitted with clasps to replace a section of missing teeth. With dentures, patients improve their chewing and speech. Dentures also provide support for facial muscles.

Extractions
Extraction is the process of removing teeth. Teeth need to be removed because they are causing pain, swelling, infection, cavities or gum disease.

Bonding
Bonding restores teeth that are discolored, chipped, cracked, or misaligned. This technique restores teeth to their natural appearance. The dentist will apply a bonding agent on the tooth, place a tooth color resin onto the tooth, then sculpt and polish the tooth.

Implant Restoration
Implants are manufactured “anchors” that look like cylinders or screws. They are artificial replacements for natural tooth roots. They are made of titanium and other materials that are well suited for the human body. Treatment generally is a three-part process that takes several months. In the first step, an implant specialist surgically places the implant in the jaw and secures the gum over the implant. The implant will remain covered for approximately three to six months while it fuses with the bone. In the second step the general dentist attaches an extension, called a post, to the implant. In the third and final step, the general dentist makes a crown, which has a size, shape, color and fit that will blend with your other teeth.
